Stop Making Sense, the famous concert documentary starring the Talking Heads, will be screened as the opener of the Sounds of Summer film series at Exposition Park in Los Angeles on June 25.
Directed by Jonathan Demme, the classic film was shot at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in 1983 and is considered one of the best documentary concert films of the day.
Sporting his “Big Suit,” Byrne held movie theatre audiences spellbound with eclectic dance moves and an unusual and riveting stage performance, accompanied by his full band including backup singers, drummer Chris Frantz and bassist Tina Weymouth.

Frantz and Weymouth will give a virtual introduction to the in person screening, which is presented by WUTI & Crush Palace.
Stop Making Sense at Exposition Park (South Lawn, 500 Exposition Park Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90037) is a chance to see the film in person again, or for the first time, on the big screen.
Fifteen percent of the ticket sales and concession profits will be donated to My Friend’s Place, a non-profit that has been assisting youths experiencing homelessness to build self-sufficient lives.
